A self-guided reflection journey

Before you decide, take stock. With your hands.

21 days to see clearly before a decision that matters: a role, a departure, a career change, a new direction.

One challenge a day. A question, a build, a story you tell yourself. No going back: just like in life, you don't replay your choices.

15 minutes a day, no screen to watch. Confidential: nobody reads your notes, not even us. The first two challenges are free.

A brick model standing on a wooden table
The problem

You've already read everything.

You make decisions all day long. For other people. Yours is still waiting.

The self-help books. The podcasts on your commute. The journals bought in January and filled up to page 12. You know the right questions. You've probably written them down somewhere.

But when you try to answer them, your mind goes in circles. It rephrases, it justifies, it postpones. It already knows every one of your excuses.

What if, for once, you let your hands answer before your head?

The rules

Three rules. No exceptions.

They're not there to make things harder. They're there to make the journey work.

01

One challenge a day

The next challenge opens tomorrow, not before. You can't rush through it all on a Sunday afternoon. And nobody will chase you: coming back is your commitment.

02

It's final

Once a challenge is done, it can't be redone. No "start over" button. You build, you tell the story, you move on. You don't replay your choices.

03

Let it settle

A night passes between two challenges. That's often when the real work happens, while you're thinking about something else.

The method

Every day, the same gesture.

A question→ A build→ A story you tell yourself→ A note you keep
Part one

Look at where you come from

The moments that mattered. The choices you made, and the ones made for you. The people who shaped you.

Part two

Imagine what draws you

Your desires, your values, the life you really want. And the tensions between them, finally out on the table.

Part three

Choose your next brick

One decision. Not ten. And the first concrete steps to lay it down, starting the very next week.

Who it's for

This journey is for you if…

Yes

  • You feel a turning point coming: a role, a company, a pace that no longer fits you.
  • Your first career choice doesn't quite feel like you anymore, and you want to understand why.
  • You've thought a lot, and decided little.
  • You find it hard to talk about it with people around you, especially at work.
  • You'd rather move forward on your own, at your own pace.
  • You want to go from "I should" to "I will".

Not for you

  • You're going through a period of distress: please talk to a health professional instead.
  • You're looking for formal career counselling or assessment.
  • You want to get it all done in one evening.
  • You're waiting for someone to tell you what to do.

What you need

Some bricks, a quiet corner, 15 minutes.

Already have bricks at home, yours or the children's? They will do. Before the first challenge, tip them loose into a box and check you have roughly:

  • Between 100 and 200 bricks, about two good handfuls. The big challenge on day 11 asks for six small builds at the same time: that is what sets the quantity.
  • Different shapes: classic bricks in several sizes, a few long flat plates (to connect elements), some sloped pieces, one or two round or transparent pieces.
  • At least five colours, including one light and one dark. One challenge will ask you to give a colour to each thread of your life.
  • Two or three figures, or anything that can stand for you: a minifigure, a game token, a brick kept apart. You will place them on a path, at the centre of a web, facing your future.
  • A few unusual pieces if you have them: a flower, a wheel, a window, a ladder, an animal. They often become the pieces that say the most.
  • A phone to photograph your builds and send yourself your notes
  • A quiet corner and 15 minutes a day on average

No need to sort or count precisely. If a type of piece is missing, the instructions always offer another way. The only build you keep at the end is the totem of day 21: give it a place.

What you get

The whole journey, ready to start.

21

Challenges, one a day

Each instruction is guided step by step. No videos, no screen to watch: nothing stands between you and your bricks.

1

A mirror that belongs to you

Before validating each challenge, you email yourself your note, attaching your photo if you wish. Your inbox becomes your mirror. We keep none of it.

1

Action plan

Built on the last day, from everything that surfaced along the way.

1

Letter to yourself

Your "You, in a year" build and your note, in an email you schedule yourself for 3 or 6 months from now. It will arrive right when you need it.

I know the moment you are in. The one where everything more or less works, where nobody asks you to change, and where something, nonetheless, no longer holds. I have been through it several times: leaving sales for internal control, taking charge of a team, agreeing to lead innovation projects in a major international bank.

Each time, the decision did not come from a career plan. It came from a pause: a few days spent looking honestly at what I was doing, what I was putting of myself into it, and what I had stopped putting in. That pause always mattered more than the next job. Mirror Mode is the method I wish I had had at that precise moment.

From those four roles, I keep a particular way of looking at a situation:

  1. Sales. I learned to hear what people don't say straight away, and to recognise the moment someone is ready to decide.
  2. Internal control team. I learned to ask the uncomfortable questions, calmly, and never to settle for the first answer.
  3. Team manager. I saw how hard it is to step back when day-to-day work swallows you whole, and how much a moment set apart can change.
  4. Innovation project lead. I found that the ideas that matter rarely come from a screen, and almost always from making something.

Today, I run workshops where leadership teams put on the table, in bricks, what they couldn't manage to say to each other. Mirror Mode is that experience redesigned for a single person: you, facing your bricks, one day at a time.

FAQ

Before you start.

On my own, really? With no one to guide me?

Yes, and that's a strength. Every instruction is guided, step by step. Nobody watches you, nobody judges you, nobody steers you towards the "right" answer. What you build belongs to you alone.

Why are there no videos?

It's a choice, for two reasons. First: our days are already full of noise, from notifications and screens to voices talking for us. A video would have added more. Second: here, you don't watch someone explain, you do. Your hands build before your head has time to comment. A short instruction, your bricks, and silence: that's all it takes for your own answers to appear.

I'm not creative. Will it still work?

There's nothing to get right. A build is neither beautiful nor failed: it's a way to think. A few bricks stacked on top of each other can say a lot.

What if I skip a day?

No problem. The next challenge waits for you, with no penalty. But nobody will remind you: no emails, no notifications. Coming back is a commitment you make to yourself.

Why can't I redo a challenge?

Because your first answer is often the truest. If you could start over, you'd end up building what you'd like to think, not what you actually think. Your photos and notes, however, are waiting in your inbox: you sent them to yourself before validating each challenge.

How much time does it take each day?

About 15 minutes on average. Just one challenge, the big landscape, takes around forty minutes: you get a heads-up the day before. Each build has a time limit, from 3 to 7 minutes depending on the challenge: enough for your hands to speak, too little for your head to take over. The full journey takes at least 21 days, since one challenge opens each day.

Is this therapy or career counselling?

No. Mirror Mode is a personal reflection journey. It doesn't replace professional, medical or therapeutic support.

Are my photos and notes private?

More than private: they never go through us. Your photos stay on your phone. Before validating a challenge, a button lets you email yourself your note, attaching your photo if you wish, or simply copy it. The email leaves from your own mailbox, to your own address. Nobody reads it, not even us. It's your mirror, and it belongs to you.

Why don't you keep my notes?

For the same reason there are no videos: less noise, more room for you. What you write during this journey is personal, and it has no business sitting on a server. We only keep your account (your email, your language, your purchase if you continue) and the date of each validated challenge. If you prefer paper, copy your notes into a notebook: it belongs to you just as much.

What if it's not for me?

You pay nothing. Challenges 1 and 2 are free: an account with just your email address is enough, no card needed. You only pay if you choose to open challenge 3. Since you've tried it before deciding, the payment is not refundable afterwards. If you stop after challenge 2, nobody will chase you, and your free account is deleted after 6 months without logging in.

Can I give Mirror Mode as a gift?

Yes. You pay €229 for the full journey: all 21 challenges, no trial needed. You receive by email a personal gift link to pass on however you like: by email, by message, or printed. The person opens it whenever they choose and creates their account with their own email address. You never see their notes or their progress. The link can be used only once and stays valid for one year. As long as it hasn't been used, you can withdraw within 14 days of purchase by writing to bonjour@modemiroir.com.

The next brick is yours to lay.
